ABOUT HSDY
MEET
THE TEAM
Founder
Nikki
After a failed attempt to go out dancing in Soho one night when she was in her 40s, Nikki decided to create the kind of club night that she and her friends wanted to go to : One that was fun, welcoming and non-judgemental, and all importantly, one where everyone could dance their socks off to feelgood 70s & 80s soul, funk and disco classics from Chic and Chaka Khan to Sylvester and Sister Sledge.
She called it Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet after the 1979 Gonzales track and on a Saturday night in March 2010, in the upstairs ballroom at the Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich, HSDY was born.
There were vinyl DJs spinning the tunes, dancers leading ‘line-ups’ to get everyone up and boogying, and prizes for the best retro outfits.
It was an immediate hit and Nikki and the HSDY crew have been partying and spreading the disco love ever since, with events in south east and north London, Croydon, and now Berkshire too, and people coming from all over the UK and Ireland and Europe, and even the US and Australia
HSDY was launched so people in their 40s and 50s would have somewhere to dance, but everyone from 18-88+ is welcome.
There are single people, couples, families partying together, and groups celebrating everything from birthdays and school reunions to works dos, and hen and stag nights.
If you love disco and you love to dance, you’ll love HSDY
But don’t take our word for it. Read what others have said, look at our gallery, and then come and join us on the dance floor.

DJ
Dolly Mix
We first met DJ Dolly a vintage clothes fair in Crystal Palace where we instantly bonded over a mutual love of sparkly outfits. When she then mentioned she was a vinyl DJ and loved disco we were totally smitten, and asked her to join the HSDY crew. Dolly has a regular Saturday night show on Wandsworth Radio and DJs at venues across London including Shoreditch House and Pop Brixton.

Dancer
Andrea Rose
When Andrea Rose came along to a HSDY night at the beginning of 2020 and mentioned that that she had danced with Kylie Minogue & Rosie Gains back in the day that was it!
She joined the crew just before the UK went into lockdown and our virtual parties wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for her. She enabled us to keep dancing in our kitchens and living rooms, and even on campsites and in car parks, despite everything.
Much as she loved this, I think it’s fair to say she’s very happy to be back on a proper stage, and she even got to dance on a podium at our mega 70s night at Epson Downs Racecourse.
Oh and did we mention she can sing too? - she was in Paul Oakenfold’s dance supergroup Planet Perfecto and performed on Top of The Pops with their hit Bullet in the Gun in 2000.

MC
Fergie
Technology company whizz during the week, dapper disco MC at weekends, Fergie loves to put on his glad rags for HSDY. His 70s suits always get admiring glances, as do his hats. His growing collection mainly comes from Laird Hatters in London’s Covent Garden. He has already been featured on their social media posts. We reckon a sponsorship deal is only a matter of time!

DJ
Lord Anthony
Lord Anthony is a legend in silver lame and one of his proudest DJ moments was warming up the crowd for Nile Rodgers and Chic on the main stage at Bestival. He has also played everywhere from Space Ibiza to London Fashion Week – where he also modelled on the catwalk for Vivienne Westwood.
He likes nothing more than dressing the part for HSDY. Memorably, he DJyed as Lord Nelson at The Trafalgar Tavern in Greenwich , and at VW Bug Jam he dressed as a ladybird (geddit?)

DJ
Lady G
Gurpreet, aka Lady G started out DJying at her local hospital radio station aged 17 and has never looked back. She spins the tunes everywhere from The Secret Garden Party and Notting Hill Carnival to soul station, Solar Radio, where she has a weekly show.
She joined the HSDY crew after founder Nikki put a call out on Facebook for female DJs who love 70s & 80s disco. Lady G came to a night and absolutely loved it. She says the best thing about DJying at HSDY is the goosebumps she gets as she hears partygoers excited screams when she plays their favourite tracks. “The pure joy I can feel in the air cannot be replicated anywhere else”, she says,
She also loves that she gets to dress up. The more glitter and sequins and sparkles the better!

Dancer
Lady Boo
Back in 2017, possibly fortified by a glass or two of wine, Boo sent a late night Tweet to HSDY saying “ I want to be one of your dancers”, and the rest, as they say, is history.
When not on stage at HSDY, Boo is the queen of south London vintage frocks, hosting her Boo to a Goose sales at her house four times a year. Not only has she brought her fabulous, irrepressible energy to HSDY, she has helped us up our sartorial game too. Many of the sparkly outfits and shoulder padded jumpsuits we wear at HSDY come from Boo.
